Doors are open!

We love Middle-Earth so much that we want some more of it in our kinship. ;-)
Applications for kinship membership are now open again, so please come tell us about yourself. :-)

Recruitment is currently closed.

We very much regret we are currently closed to new applications. We limit the maximum size of the kinship to help keep it personal and friendly. We are currently at our maximum number.

Please check back regularly! We are rarely closed for more than a few weeks.

If you are an ex-member returning to the kinship or the game, then you are welcome back regardless of our closed status. Please make yourself known to us via the Applications Forum so we can welcome you home! ;-)

Open for recruitment!

We're happy to announce our doors are once again open to new recruits!

We've decided on a system to limit the number of recruits in the kin at any once time. This may mean a short wait - but if so, we'll be able to give you an entry date when you apply.

Website moved to new server

The website has now been successfully moved to a new server and everything seems to be up and running just fine. So if you can't access the forum, try clearing your internet cache. If that doesn't work, sadly you'll need to go away and try again in an hour or so. It takes a while for the new IP address to propagate correctly but it should all be straight well before the evening is done (21st April). If you're having trouble after that, please contact me, Kad or Rosah in-game!

Now open for recruitment!

Once again, we're now able to open our doors and welcome a few new members in! Please use the membership application forum to apply.

We don't discriminate by class, level or stuff like that. If you're older than 25 years and you've read our charter and think we sound like the right people for you, you're welcome to try us out! It is worth bearing in mind that we don't have very many players at low level any longer. However, there are always alts around, so it's usually possible to get a group around the right level.

Whether we're officially open or closed for recruitment, Elders returning to the game or kinship are always welcome! Use the membership application forum to alert us to you.

"I wanted to join The Elders! Where can I go instead?"

First of all, we're really sorry we're closed to new Members at the moment. It isn't a decision we've taken lightly. Unfortunately we can't be at all sure when we will re-open. Here are some alternative suggestions of kinships you might like to check out.

Elders Closed For Recruitment

For the first time in our history - and with great reluctance - we have closed our doors to new recruits for a while.

However, if you're an ex-Elder hoping to return: Don't panic! Read on!! :-D

Announcing New Officers

As time passes and people come and go, we need to take care that we have an active and lively leadership. Therefore The Elders are pleased to announce the promotion of 5 new Officers:

Derax
Dirko
Gallas
Junius
Qwen

Congratulations to four excellent kinnies who I know will serve the kinship well (as indeed that have already been doing).

The Elders celebrate their birthday!

The Elders first birthday was celebrated with a huge and long-running party. Unfortunately, most of us were too over-excited, overwhelmed, drunk - or just too old - to make a proper record of events. Fortunately for us, a recent literature search has revealed that the event was attended by a world-renowned anthropologist deeply engaged in the study of Middle Earth society and customs. We are lucky enough to have obtained a full copy of his report into his observations of this event. We have reproduced this unmissable account here.

Forochel & Book 13 First Impressions

A report by Meruror
-------------------
Here are some of my first experiences with book 13.

Let's begin with some fishing pictures. I know, some people don't want to fish before tuesday, but if you intend to play the game at all, you can't avoid at least seeing other people doing it.

The Elders Go Off The Map

Last night the Elders joined Nivlek who guided us to previously unknown, and still unmapped, corners of Middle Earth. We were treated to stunning views and a visit to a strange hobbit farmer in a glades. We sat by a campfire, watched the stars, listened to music and didn't eat marshmallows. Great pleasure was had by all, although two of us fell victim to the Elite Nemesis known as Gravity. See photos and read Meruror's report of the full story...
